Chair Yoga is a gentle type of Yoga that has tremendous benefits for all practitioners, no matter your abilities or limitations. You don’t need to be ‘bendy’ or even be able to get onto the floor to gain all the advantages of a Yoga class. Chair Yoga meets you exactly where you are today and offers the full Yoga experience from the safety and comfort of a chair.

We begin class with a short meditation, bringing ourselves into the present moment, focusing on our body and breath. Next we warm up and begin moving the entire body, stretching and strengthening from head to toe in a sequence of mindful movements. Moving with the breath allows us to open up the body, mind and spirit to new space and strength. Standing postures are also included and allow us to continue stretching and strengthening but with the added benefit and security of using the chair for balance and support. We end the class with a guided relaxation to ‘seal in’ all the benefits of your practice, leaving feeling calm, centered and connected. |
